The teaser includes interviews of several people in the community who stayed to defend their neighborhoods. They are still gathering footage and interviews from experts, witnesses and various locations affected by the wildfire to provide a comprehensive portrayal of the event and its aftermath.

The film is being done by an independent Kamloops production company, with family ties in the Shuswap. Producers Duane and Cjay Boisclair have worked and played in this area repeatedly throughout their lives and were on the North Shuswap during the wildfire event.

They have set up a Gofundme page to help them complete the documentary. They are interested in telling the truth about what happened during the wildfires in the community. “Telling a complete accounting of the story is important to us.”

“Our mission with this documentary is to capture the untold stories of resilience, unity and the indomitable spirit of the Shuswap community in the face of adversity.” If you would like to contribute to finishing Backburn - Behind the Lines, go to https://gofund.me/7d891791
