New Online Option Added for Planning and Building Applications

The Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) is one of the first regional districts in the province to add an online application option for its planning and building applications.
Applicants can now fill out and submit their applications online at their convenience, any time of day or night. Links to the new online planning and building application forms have been placed on the CSRD website. Users click the link for the form of their choosing, and they will be automatically directed to the online version. Landowners or agents can then provide the necessary information for their application and upload documents and plans.
Online payment can now be made for all online planning applications. The ability to pay online for building applications will be available soon.
“More and more users have let us know that they would like the ability to work on their application from their laptop or home computer, rather than use the printed applications which need to be scanned-in and sent by email or handed-in directly to the CSRD. We listened to them and have worked hard to develop a new online process that is more convenient and efficient for both applicants and staff,” says Gerald Christie, General Manager, Development Services.

The traditional method of filling out and submitting scanned or paper copies of planning and building application forms remains an option for applicants. Those forms are also available in a PDF format on the pages listed below.

CSRD staff invested significant time and effort to develop this program in-house through a funding partnership. The project was made possible through the Local Government Development Approvals Program, which is funded by the Province of BC and administered through the Union of BC Municipalities.
